IAGA-V Symposium

The IAGA-V Symposium is the fifth in a series of International Symposiums supported by the International Association of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy (IAGA). The general theme of IAGA-V is: Climate Change and Sustainable Development. It will be held between the 18th and 22nd of November 2018, at the Regional Center for Space Science and Technology Education for Western Asia (RCSSTE-WE), in Amman, the capital of Jordan.

Background

The aim of understanding the physical and chemical basis of climate and climate change, in order to predict climate variability from timescales of seasons to centuries and beyond, and to assess the role of human activities in influencing the global climate, is essential to our continued well-being. Directly coupled to climate are factors central to sustaining life on the planet, such as water resources, food and temperature. Space-related causes of climate change, such as variations in Earth’s orbital parameters and axial tilt, as well as solar variability, are also essential for a better understanding of the global climate and climate change.

The effects of solar variability and space weather on the climate may be significant and must be differentiated from other natural influences and from climate effects associated with human activity. Improved understanding of solar influences on the tropospheric and stratospheric circulation and the climate in general is a must.

Aims of IAGA-V

After these all, if we come to women NovaGenix staff has helped hundreds bargain prices on line levitra of women.

The aim of the Fifth IAGA Symposium is to maintain the momentum so far generated by bringing together communities interested in climate change and/ or space weather, both from solar and atmospheric disciplines, whether they work in observation or modeling.

Our Fifth Symposium, entitled “Climate change and Sustainable Development”, opens to major new research in climate change and sustainable development, especially the solar influence on climate, and sustainable development. Nowadays, scientists and the general public as well, are interested in using satellites to understand the nature of the links between solar activity (its short-, medium-, and long-term variability) and its effects on space weather and climate change.

Previous IAGA Symposia

Four IAGA Symposia were organized so far, which are International Symposia supported by the International Association of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy (IAGA).

  • IAGA-I was the first Symposium of the series, held on 5–9 October 2008. It was entitled “Space Weather and its Effects on Spacecraft”.
  • IAGA-II is second one, held on 4–8 December 2009. It was entitled “Solar Wind-Space Environment Interaction”.
  • IAGA-III is the third one, held on 13–17 November 2011. It was entitled “Heliospheric Physics during and after a deep solar minimum”.
  • IAGA-IV is the fourth one, held on 20-24 March 2016. It was entitled “Influence of short- and long-term solar variability on climate”.
