Membership conditions:

The AUASS consists of:

  1. Astronomical or space institutions and societies in the Arab world, both the institution and that which joined later.
  2. Specialists in countries where there are no associations or Arab astronomical or space institutions.
  3. Arab academic institutions such as institutes, universities, and others that include in their programs Astronomy and Space Sciences.
  4. Any person approved by the Supreme Council within clear controls to be agreed upon.

 

1 –Types of membership:

  1. working member,
  2. associate member,
  3. observer member,
  4. honorary member

 

2 – An active member of the Union accepts:

  • The astronomical or space institutions and societies in the Arab world that established the federation and those that would join it afterwards.
  • specialized persons in countries where there are no Arab astronomical or space associations or institutions.
  • Any person whom the Supreme Council agrees to appoint.

 

3 – An affiliate member is accepted for special reasons.

 

4 – An observer member of the Union accepts:

  • Council of Arab Economic Unity.
  • Arab League organizations.
  • The relevant specialized Arab federations.
  • Any natural person whom the Supreme Council agrees to appoint.

 

5- Each of the following shall be an honorary member of the Union:

  • For his valued services to the Union and the Arab nation.
  • Granting him membership in recognition.

 

A – With the exception of observers and honorary members, the body or person wishing to join the AUASS shall submit a formal application

  1. He undertakes to abide by the Articles of Association of the Federation and to commit to paying membership fees and subscriptions, provided that the application is accompanied by documents indicating the fulfillment of the membership conditions.
  2. The member must pay the joining fees within six months from the date of his notification of accepting his membership in the Federation, and he must pay the annual contributions on time.

 

Membership capacity ceases to exist from the Federation in the following cases:

  • Failure to pay the assessed contributions for two consecutive years
  • The member expresses his desire to terminate his membership by resignation.
  • Violation of the Articles of Association of the Federation is a fundamental violation.

Dissolution of the Union or the issuance of a decision by the General Conference to terminate it.

  • Any other fundamental reasons that the Federal Supreme Council considers sufficient for the demise of membership.
