The visit of the Chinese delegation to the Kingdom of Jordan at the invitation of the AUASS

By a generous invitation from the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences, a Chinese delegation representing several universities and institutes in the People’s Republic of China visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from April 22nd to April 26th, 2024.

At the beginning of academic and research cooperation in the Kingdom, the delegation visited Al-Zarqa Private University, where they met the university president, Professor Dr. Nidal Al-Ramahi, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Alaa Al-Din Sadek, the Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Nidal Aisheh, and the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Ghbar, in addition to several members of the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences, including Professor Dr. Ali Al-Taani, Head of the Physics Department at Al-Balqa Applied University, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Mardini, one of the top researchers in astronomy and space science in the Arab region, especially with several research papers published in the international journal Nature, along with Motasem Al-Slaihat and Diala Tannineh, representatives of the Union’s public relations.

During the reception, Professor Dr. Al-Ramahi gave an overview of Al-Zarqa University, its colleges, and the available majors, emphasizing its leading position in Jordan and the achievements it has made internationally in the fields of scientific research, scientific publishing, and scientific conferences.

For their part, members of the delegation praised the university’s high level and distinguished reputation, expressing their readiness to cooperate and exchange experiences in the future.

During the visit, the delegation toured various facilities of the university, including the library unit, the computer center, the pharmaceutical research center, the energy research center, and the College of Dentistry, and honorary shields were presented to members of the delegation by Professor Dr. Al-Ramahi.
